Happy New Year!!!
I like to take the start of the year to reflect upon what happened in the previous and to plan for all of the things that I want to do in the next!
This year I plan on tackling my first quilting projects as well as sewing as many purses and wallets as possible while ordering awesome fabric to add to the site!
Without delving too far into the large amount of negative events of 2020, I wanted to reflect on some of the good things that came from the year instead!
If life gives you lemons, make lemonade! If life gives you fabric... sew all of the things!
For me, the single largest good thing that happened in 2020 was that I launched Spack Craft Fabric in June! Thank you to everyone who has helped make this launch a success! It has turned a lifelong craft supplies buying habit into overdrive, but I am committed to trying to make online fabric shopping easier and hopefully fun!
It's been a real pleasure to see how many of my fellow Canadians choose to shop small over the past few months! Even if you can't purchase from your favourite small business, the support shown by referrals as well as sharing and commenting on social media is amazing!
I am feeling hopeful for 2021!
There are several vaccines that are starting to be distributed, we know much more than we did a year ago at this time and it feels like we are on the right track to start taking things in hand!
While we are starting the year off in a "lockdown", that doesn't mean reduced to boredom for crafters who are savvy online shoppers or have accumulated a large stash to pull from. We are still fulfilling orders via curbside pickup in Binbrook Ontario, local delivery (contactless!) to Hamilton addresses and shipping out quickly! (usually within 24-48 hours of orders being placed)
If you have some extra quiet time, why not tackle a new to you skill or project?
Stay tuned for future blog posts with pattern reviews and project ideas!
New Shipments & Delays
As some of you may be aware, the pandemic has affected delivery schedules and availability across the board from the manufacturers and distributors. Generally speaking, many collections are a month or two behind schedule. We try to keep on top of our listings and filter by "in-stock" so that you can find the fabric you are looking for! (or droids... yes, I am totally a nerd)
We have orders placed with all of our suppliers through the first half of this year and starting on the second half! While they are a little behind schedule, the fabric eventually shows up! If everything goes mostly to plan (it never goes entirely to plan after all) we should have steady shipments of new stock as well as some favourites that are re-orderable!
We started the year off right with an unexpected delivery on New Year's Eve from Northcott, the first brand we launched with and one of my personal favourites! If you haven't tried this brand, I highly recommend!
This shipment included three collections that I am super excited about, including one that I was not expecting to actually receive as it had been oversold! I think I called my Mom, Husband and Sister-in-Law to tell them personally how excited I was about this!
In addition to the Journey collection, we received the You Had Me At Wine and Ooh La La prints that we had on order, as well as rounding off a super fun delivery with some back-ordered solids. (Double-black and grey back in stock!)
If you haven't tried the colorworks solids line, I recommend it! If you want to feel a piece first, send us a note and I can either include a scrap piece with your current order or mail a sample piece out first for you to try!

If you are looking for an additional black blender to go with the Ooh La La collection, check out the Dublin basics in black!
We have sew much more fabric on order! Keep in touch via our social media and Newsletter to keep on top of all the new products due to arrive in the next few months!
Please feel free to drop a comment with something good that happened in 2020 or your crafting goals for 2021!
