All this month I am going to feature a manufacturer per week and it just seemed right to launch this with the brand that I opened the shop with, Northcott.
Throwback photo to the first shipment that came in!
Northcott is the home of "cottons that feel like silk” and their mission of 'offering quality fabrics that will inspire everyone to sew and craft' strongly resonates with my vision for Spack Craft Fabric! Read more about them on their "About Us" page.
Northcott continues to grow and bring on new product lines. When I opened our "doors" a year ago, I could order from Northcott and FIGO Fabrics (a division of Northcott). They have since added Patrick Lose Fabrics and Banyan Batiks and I can't wait to see what they have coming up next!
If I sound super excited about this brand, it's because I am! I find myself reaching for their fabric in my personal and business sewing more frequently than many others and I have a serious love for the alcohol ink inspired prints.
I've never been a big user of solid colours until I tried Northcott's Colorworks Solids line. I've ordered Kona Cotton online and have no problem with it, but I really like the hand of Northcott's solid fabrics. They are so soft and have been my go-to for the insides of masks during this pandemic.
The shop started with 8 solid colours and now stocks 26 with more being added with every new shipment! Looking for a particular colour? Let us know!
I discovered Northcott Basics for the first time when I ordered a bolt of their Essence Basics line from an online shop I frequented before I opened up Spack Craft Fabric. I loved it so much I had to order it for the shop right away when I opened and I'm lucky I managed to get my hands on some as the line had been discontinued just around mid last year. It's a beautiful floral blender and I still have select stock here!
Of their current basics, I just had to stock the Dublin line. This basic pairs so well with a busier fabric, without being plain, boring or "too girly". I find myself reaching for it again and again and love mixing it into some of the hand-cut bundles I make for the shop.
Beyond solids and basics, there are lots of beautiful and fun collections on order, the two most recent arrivals deserve a moment in the spotlight first though!
Introducing Sail Away, this beautiful nautical collection features some of their gorgeous alcohol ink blenders, canvas tote bag panel as well as a really cool cartographic wideback.
For the first time, we are offering quilt kits to go along with the patterns here! Please note that backing is separate from the kits sothat you have your choice of piecing any of the collection prints or using the wideback.
September Morning arrived with Sail Away and is quite lovely with alcohol ink themed autumn hues with a beautiful panel, canvas tote bag panel as well as a gorgeous wideback. See the growing collection of widebacks here!
Check out this amazingly beautiful panel from the collection:
Quilt kits and hand-cut fat quarter bundles will be coming for September Morning this week, stay tuned on social media for the latest to hit the website.
Just in time for Canada Day, I have a select number of prints from the new My Canada collection and a few from the last Stonehenge - Oh Canada printing that I have managed to keep in stock. See all Canadian prints here.
I am really looking forward to the 10th Anniversary Special Edition of this line! The collection is slated for November delivery and stay tuned for more information on Northcott's 'With Glowing Hearts' Quilt-Along starting in March 2022!
Many more exciting collections are on order! Check out the coming soon collection to see what's on order.
